Uganda Cranes striker Fahad Bayo opened his goal scoring account at his new club, Ashdod Sports Club as they cruised to a 3-2 victory against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Monday evening.
The former Vipers forward Bayo was on target after 20 minutes having made a clinical finish off Mohammed Canan’s assist to score his first goal in eight games for Ashdod.
Ashdod’s first goal scorer Bayo was later replaced by Sagiv Yehezkel on the 57th minute mark at the Yud-Alef stadium while country mate Timothy Dennis Awany featured for the entire match.
Super substitute Yehezkel and Shlomi Azulai netted the other two goals to win it for Ashdod while defender Luis Hernandez and Yonathan Cohen scored the two goals for Maccabi Tel Aviv.
After match-day nine, Ashdod is now positioned third on the table with 15 points and will play against Kizito William Kizito Luwagga’s Hapoel Kfar Saba on Saturday in their next League game.
