Vipers SC and Uganda Cranes talisman Fahad Bayo Aziiz has officially joined Israel Premier League side FC Ashdod on a four-year contract deal.
Bayo and Serbian defender Nenad Svetkevic are the two foreigners that were confirmed on Monday as the club’s latest acquisitions in this off-season transfer window.
“We are delighted to announce two impressive acquisitions of two foreign players, who have signed long-term contracts for years, in the long term vision and building a quality staff that will lead the team to fight for goals at the top of the table,” read the statement released by FC Ashdod.
Bayo joined Vipers SC last year having ended his one-year spell with Zambian Premier League side Buildcon FC.
He had a colourful debut season with the Venoms scoring 12 league goals in 23 games and helping the club win the 2019/2020 Uganda Premier League title.
The former Proline FC striker also scored a goal on his debut for Uganda Cranes during the 2021 African Nations Cup qualifiers game against Malawi at Namboole.
Bayo and Svetkovich will arrive in Israel and join their new friends immediately after completing the mandated isolation period.
The robust target man joins former KCCA FC and Cranes defender Timothy Dennis Awany who plays his trade at the same club.
