Express FC vs Mbarara City FC, 4:30 PM
Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku
Express FC have suspended Ronnie Kiseka and team Captain Stephen Luswata ahead of a crucial home tie with fellow relegation strugglers Mbarara City.
The said players are reported to have gone against the club rules and regulations.
On the eve of the club’s away loss to Kirinya Jinja SS, it is told that a couple of Express FC players participated in Bayern tournament despite the fact that the club had a crucial engagement, and on top of that, they didn’t request permission from the club.
However, of all the players, only Stephen Luswata was suspended.
Speaking in explanation of the matter, Express FC coach Shafic Bisaso told ChimpSports: “We had to punish Luswata because he is the captain, so he had sole responsibility to control his fellow players, he should lead by example.”
Following the saga, the player issued out his apology but the club’s disciplinary committee is yet to give it’s verdict.
It is reported that defender Ronnie Kiseka on the other hand was suspended because he came to the team camp very late.
When asked whether the suspensions have not come at a wrong time, the soft spoken Coach explained:
“We may miss them because they are big players but it’s not always about winning matches.
“We are trying to build a model team, this is Express FC and players should respect the jersey. No player is bigger than this club.”
Left back Suleiman Jjingo has been ruled out of the game, the player has not been training with the club since the loss to Kirinya Jinja SS.
Jjingo has told this website that he has been sick for the past four days, nursing malaria and bruises on his hands he suffered in Jinja, he however revealed that he will attend the Mbarara City game to cheer up his comrades.
