Uganda Premier League outfit Express FC have been slapped with a huge fine for unsporting conduct.
The punishment handed to the club by the FUFA competition disciplinary panel cites that Express FC hid match balls and recalled off the ball boys in a league game.
The incident aforementioned , took place during the league game with Mbarara City FC at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, a game Express FC won 1-0.
The letter signed by Chairman disciplinary committee Deo Mutabazi, states that what Express FC did contravenes with article 16.9 of the Uganda Premier League rules 2017-2018.
“Accordingly Express FC is fined 1,000,000 shs (One million shillings).
The CDP may revise this fine amount upwards if not paid by 26th April 2018,” reads the ruling in part.
The decision comes at a time when the club, who have just jumped out of the relegation zone, are struggling financially.
However, the club have room to challenge the ruling by filing an appeal to the committee.
Express FC is 12th on the table with 25 points in 23 games.
