The 27th March 2017 storming of the Finance Ministry by the special security operatives was the first move blessed by President Yoweri Museveni against the high placed corrupt officials.
Commissioner Geoffrey Turyamuhika and Economist Michael Ogwal were apprehended in the raid for allegedly taking bribes from investors and were immediately taken to special custody center in Nalufenya synonymous with the detention of terrorist and treason suspects.

The Serena Hotel mission that was to be executed early next week was targeting top officials from State House who are involved in massively taking money from investors and foreign visitors of the president.

Inadvertently, on Saturday evening the Minister of Labor, Employment and Industrial Relations, Herbert Kabafunzaki was arrested from the same place by the detectives from the Kampala Metropolitan Police.
The minister was allegedly taking a bribe from the AYA Hotel boss who has been accused of sexually harassing a female employee. Kabafunzaki was handling the matter and he purportedly asked for a Shs 30m bribe.
It remains unclear if the special squad already mapping the State House officials are still going to continue with the mission since yesterday’s incident at the same place has definitely alerted the second would be victims.
When contacted on phone, the Senior Presidential Press Secretary, Don Wanyama said the crackdown is not going to spare anyone.
“If there is anyone in State House who is picking money illegally from the investors and there is evidence to that effect, yes, they will be arrested whether at Serena or elsewhere,” Mr. Wanyama said.
This investigative website also understands there is a pending arrest in one of the other two arms of government over corruption.
