Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde’s second son, Amanya Nduhura Tumukunde has been arrested and detained by security.
ChimpReports has exclusively learnt that Amanya, who stood in the chaotic Western Youth Member of Parliament in 2016 that resulted in his father suffering a bullet wound on his leg, was picked last night from their home in the Kampala’s leafy Kololo suburb.
“Security came and took Amanya from home last night. We don’t know where they have taken him,” a source told us.
Amanya, we’ve learnt, spent his night at Kabalagala police station which is under Southern Division Kampala Metropolitan area.
Ordinarily, Amanya would have been taken to the nearby Kiira road division. Gen. Tumukunde’s case is however a special one considering the involvement of different security agencies including military, Joint Anti-Terrorism and Police.
This website on Friday broke the story of detaining of another Tumukunde’s son, Philips Tumukunde and other people in the general’s consultation team including Tororo North MP, Nyakecho Annet.
A joint security operation commanded led by the police Director of Criminal Investigations Department, AIGP Grace Akullo placed the team under house at the Tumukunde’s office in Kololo. We have now understood that team now remaining 16 have been finally arrested and taken by police though not charged yet.
Efforts to get a comment from Police Spokesman, Fred Enanga were futile as he did not pick our repeated calls.
ChimpReports is closely following the development.
