Ex Deputy SFC Boss, Brig Sabiiti to Command Military Police

President Museveni has appointed former Deputy Special Forces Commander, information pills Brigadier Sabiiti Muzeeyi Magyenyi as the Military Police Commander.

Sabiiti now replaces Col Emmanuel Kanyesigye who heads to Gulu as the UPDF 4th Division Commander.

Sabiiti returned from a special military course early this year before taking leave.

Uganda’s military police is an enforcer of discipline in the armed forces.

In some cases it provides specialist support to investigations such as Scenes of Crime. They further render service both in garrison and on operations.

They are also tasked with training and providing Close Protection operatives from within the command for senior military personnel on operations.

The 4th Division Command position has been vacant since the departure of Brigadier Kayanja Muhanga to Somalia.

Col Akiiki Rugadya has been serving as the caretaker of the post.

Insiders say Sabiiti was hugely expected to take over the Special Forces Command top job.

He deputized Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for several years until last year when he was sent on a course.
