Police have commenced investigations into circumstances under which two European nationals were found dead at Pearl of Africa Hotel and Kampala Sheraton Hotel respectively in Kampala capital.
“We are investigating a case of homicide,” police spokesperson Emillian Kayima told ChimpReports on Saturday.
Terasvouri Tuomas Juha Petteri, 42, a Finland national, arrived in Uganda on February 5 before checking into room number 806 at Pearl of Africa Hotel.
It’s alleged Juha was accompanied by a lady identified as Faridah Nankya and security personnel.
Nankya left the hotel at around 7:00am, promising to return early morning to pick Juha.
On February 6, Nankya found Juha dead in his room.
She quickly alerted management which took up the matter with police.
Nankya has since been arrested to facilitate investigations into the bizarre incident.
Kayima also confirmed another investigation into the death of Alex Nordlarndar Sabastian Andreas, 41, who was found dead in his hotel room number 1231 at Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
Andreas arrived at the hotel on the morning of February 5 only to be found dead six hours later.
The incidents have raised fears of a possible organised criminal gang in the country.
Such incidents are rare at Uganda’s top hotels.
Interestingly, these incidents occurred in a space of 12 hours.
Most importantly, the deaths happened at hotels with the tightest security in Kampala.
All guests at these hotels go through several security check points.
