Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago has today been nominated to take part in the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Primaries for the mayoral seat.
Lukwago was seconded by Nakawa Legislator Micheal Andrew Kabaziguruka, Kawempe South Member of Parliament (MP) Mubarak Munyagwa and Stella Nyanzi.
Toterebuka Bamwenda the Party’s Electoral Commission (EC) boss acknowledged receipt of the documents.
“I have two sets of forms. Before me there is the expression of interest forms and the nomination form for party primaries,” he said.
In his short speech, Lukwago thanked the councillors of the Kampala City Council Authority (KCCA), and his seconders.
Lukwago joined FDC on July 28 2020, after he fell out with the incumbent leadership of the Democratic Party (DP).
His decision to vie for the Mayoral position has now extinguished rumors that the party was planning to front him as its presidential candidate.
