Entebbe: Police Officer Arrested In Foiled Robbery Attempt

Police of Entebbe is holding two men including a police officer, suspected to be robbers who terrorize residents in the area.

The suspects were arrested last night by a LDU and police patrol in a foiled robbery attempt in which gun shots were heard.

The incident took  place at 10 pm around Katabi at Abaita Ababiri.

According to Police, detectives and LDU personnel were dispatched on 999 patrol to respond to an attempted robbery that was about to happen.

Kampala metropolitan deputy police spokesman Luke Owoyesigire says one Tom Kisuku, a resident of Busega while driving his car registration number UBD 328J along Entebbe road was nearly robbed by two occupants of a Mark11 number UAW 714B.

The victim however, tipped off the police which swung in action and stopped the robbery.

The victim told police that the two occupants had robbed him twice before and this was the third attempt.

“Shockingly the occupants of the alleged vehicle were identified as ASP Tuhire Bright and another one called Richard Musinguzi,” said Owoyesigire


ASP Bright Tuhire is attached to Kajjansi police station along Entebbe road and his accomplice is a civilian.

The police officer was arrested in full uniform but was unarmed.

Reacting to the same incident, Polly Namaye the deputy police spokeswoman said that as police they don’t condone crime within police and will take tough action towards criminal police officer.

Police applauded the immediate action that was taken by the commandant of LDU in Entebbe who rapidly responded to the distress call from the victim.
