The Ekkula Pearl of Africa Tourism Awards 2019 have been launched by the State Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda Suubi at the Golden Tulip Hotel Kampala.
While speaking at the launch, Kiwanda commended the organisers of the Awards for having played a great role in the development of Uganda’s Tourism industry.
This 4th Edition is dedicated towards awarding, recognising, inspiring and motivating key tourism players in the industry.
According to Bismarck Moses Amumpaire the Coordinator of Ekkula Tourism Awards, the event will take place at Sheraton hotel in March 29.
This year’s awards will run under the theme “Sharing our cultural diversity through the digital transformation for bigger tourism numbers.”
Some of the categories to be awarded are: Best Tourism Ambassador, where socialite Zari and Miss Uganda Quiin Abenakyo will be voted by the public on who participated well as a tourism ambassador.
Other categories are Best digital transporters such as Safe Boda, Taxify, Uber, Twende and many others.
