Cricket is a very complex game that needs a lot of mental strength especially after a long pause in play.
It’s upon this background that the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) appointed Edgar Kazibwe as a Sports Psychologist for the National Cricket Cranes team.
His appointment was announced on Tuesday afternoon and will work for an initial period of Six months.
Kazibwe who is under the mentorship of Equity sport will start his duties immediately as the Association seek to improve the performance of the National team.
UCA Chief Executive Officer, Martin Ondeko expressed his excitement upon the development.
“UCA is very excited about the partnership with Equity sport to have a psychologist for the National teams. Certainly there is going to be a change in the mind sets of players to bring the desired results on and off the pitch,” Ondeko told ChimpReports.
His involvement will be mostly centered on work with the National teams both men and women plus the Junior teams.
Equity Sports is a charity organisation in the UK that exists to tackle socioeconomic inequality, promote equal opportunity and level the playing field in global sport.
