Ugandan BET award winner Edrisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo has been in Cote d’Ivoire since March this year when the lockdown was effected.
The “Semyekozo” hit singer had gone to do a concert when, unfortunately, the President put a halt on all passenger flights in and out of the country before Kenzo could return.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign affairs listed Cote d’Ivoire as one of the countries where Ugandans would be repatriated between 18th and 24th of July. This provides a window for the artist to come back home.
When the airports closed, Eddy Kenzo lamented and cried out to the Ministry of Health and government to help and bring him home because he was stuck in a French speaking country, with different delicacies that he said were a bit out of his usual diet.
In May, Eddy Kenzo also called Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, Speaker of Parliament seeking for help because he had spent a lot of money in Cote D’Ivoire with daily expenses on accommodation and all other personal effects.
The singer was also supposed to have a mega concert on 28th March at the Kololo airstrip. However just like any other concert, it never manifested due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
