Celebrated artist Edrisah Musuuza alias Eddy Kenzo and seasoned TV presenter Douglas Lwanga have won the best entertainer and Best Tv/ Radio Host awards respectively in the just concluded African Entertainment Awards, USA (AEAUSA).
The African Entertainment Awards, USA (AEAUSA) are held every year in New Jersey since their inception in 2015. The awards recognize Africans in the entertainment industry whose works have crossed borders.
This year, 19 Ugandans were nominated for the awards. These include Eddy Kenzo, Sheebah, Douglas Lwanga, Spice Diana, Rema Namakula, B2C entertainment, Ykee Benda, Daddy Andre, John Blaq, Bebe Cool, Chameleon, Patrick Salvador, Anne Kansiime, Triplet Ghetto Kids, Masaka Kids Africana, Big Trill, DJs Slick Sturt and Roja, Levixone and Anita Kalule.
The awards were held yesterday night at 10 pm East African time and they were broadcast live on the AEAUSA Youtube channel.
“Congratulations to me and my fans, I’m the best entertainer at AEAUSA 2020 in New Jersey,” Eddy Kenzo shared on his social media.
He also won the same award at the AEAUSA awards in 2019.
“Just won the African Entertainment Award USA( AEAUSA) Best African Entertainment TV Host. Congratulations Uganda, it’s coming home,” Douglas Lwanga posted on his social media.
Other winners include Diamond Platinums for Best Male Artist, Sauti Sol for Hottest Group, Master KG’s Jerusalema took the Song of the year award while Burna Boy’s ‘Anybody’ took the Best Music Video of the year award.
