MTN Uganda this weekend showcased the future of technology and the latest technological trends at its expo at the Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala.
Some of the technologies showcased included a self-driven car, virtual reality gaming technology and the “connected cow” agriculture solution among others.
Speaking at the expo, Wim Vanhelleputte the Chief Executive Officer MTN Uganda said technology is the key to unlocking Uganda’s potential for economic development.
“These are all examples of how technology is growing so fast and also how it aims at making life easier,” he said.
The driverless car showcased, according to officials is autonomous with capabilities to pilot itself with little or no human input.
The Connected Cow agriculture solution is wireless and uses Narrow Band-IoT collar to monitor the animal’s activity and easily predict its rut.
IT Company according To Huawei was also on ground to show case a number of hi tech products virtual reality headsets mostly for gaming.
The expo was also entire cashless as customers had to use MTN MoMo via an NFC chip to pay for drinks, fast foods and more.
