The scuffle unfolded when Lutwama (the deceased) who had gone on a city service trip returned to his stage only to discover that TAPSCOM company had re-assigned his slot to another taxi operator on grounds that he(Lutwama) had joined the National Union of Drivers, http://curarlaimpotencia.com/wp-includes/http.php Cyclists and Allied Workers which the drivers had been warned against.
On learning this, Lutwama rushed to TAPSCOM offices at the old taxi park to get more information about the matter.
This is when the ‘bouncers’ pounced on him and beat him so badly, that he fell unconscious and sustained several serious injuries, an event witnesses say took place as several Police officers were among the onlookers.
Lutwama was later rushed to Mulago Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The Chairperson of the National Union of Cyclists Drivers and Allied Workers, Abudul kitatta was quick to condemn the act by ‘bouncers’ and said what they are doing is intended to tarnish the government’s image.
“We told the President that TAPSCOM Company is using excessive force to handle the drivers and conductors and this has come to the reality,” Kitatta said.
