Ahead of the Pearl of Africa rally slated for the 16th-17th September, look Byona has promised to put up a good performance.
“I am focused and ambitious. I have the backing of the sponsors and my fans should expect fireworks,” said Byona.
Also popularly known as Omunyeto, Byona revealed a new Mitsubishi Evo 9 that he will use for the Pearl of Africa rally and vowed to improve in the new car.
“We started as the last car in last year’s event but we managed sixth position. So with the Evo 9 this year I believe we shall perform better,” he stated.
Byona also set the target for this year’s Pearl of Africa rally vowing to finish within the top five.
“It can be number one, two or five but target this time round is to finish within the top five.” said Byona.
The soft spoken driver will be navigated by Derrick Lubambula and will compete against 51 other crews that registered for this year’s Pearl of Africa rally that gets underway on Saturday with a special sprint in Busiika before the crews move to Mubende for the final sections on Sunday.
