Mustafa Kiiza has said that it was a ‘dream come true’ to score his first goal for the Kobs.
The left back scored a late goal as the Uganda Kobs edged South Sudan in the AFCON U23 qualification game on Wednesday.
It feels good to score for your country, this is a moment I have been waiting, a dream come true,” Mustafa commented during a post match Press conference.
This was Mustafa’s first goal for the Kobs, his second for Uganda. He had earlier scored for the U20 against South Sudan.
When the game seemed to be heading for a stalemate, goalkeeper John Mayik Diing brought down Mukwala in the area for the home side to earn a penalty.
Mustafa stepped up to score from the spot and it was too late for the visitors to recover.
“We didn’t expect the game to be this tough, they (South Sudan) gave us a tough time and played good football, but we managed to come through,” Mustafa added.
Uganda will look to seal business in the return leg on Tuesday, November 20 in Juba.
Winner on aggregate will face Tunisia in the last qualification phase.
