Dr Mbonye: Rose Namayanja ‘Out of Danger’

For the past 13th years MTN has been supportive of the activities of Kampala Club, the oldest social club in Uganda and a sports home to many of Uganda’s finest corporate and business personalities.

The Kampala Club Independence Cup is an annual event where club members competitively participate in 11 sports disciplines including squash, badminton, tennis, darts, table tennis, board games such as omweso, scrabble, and chess, walking, pool and swimming, as they contest for honours complimented by trophies and medals.

Reflecting on the reasons for MTN’s partnership with Kampala Club, MTN Uganda’s Chief Marketing Officer Mapula Bodibe said, “Solutions like 4G LTE in which we have significantly invested in to deliver the fastest Internet across Uganda have enhanced the way our customers and businesses operate.”

He told journalists on Tuesday afternoon that the former Information Minister and Nakaseke Woman MP sustained a fractured upper hip bone but that her condition was “stable.”

Mbonye added: “It was serious. All the four occupants of the car have been admitted.”

The NRM top official’s mother Catherine Namirembe, Richard Kyazze (bodyguard) and Mr Isma Ssebunya (driver) who were in the ill-fated car sustained injuries as well.

ChimpReports understands Namayanja’s car collided with a truck along Bombo Road as she rushed to Kasangombe Sub-county in Nakaseke District to attend a ground-breaking ceremony for the new Health centre III.

Top NRM leaders who visited Namayanja said she would “be fine.”

They include Hon Mike Sebalu, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, Moses Kigongo, Evelyn Anite among others.
