President Yoweri Museveni has called on Ugandans, especially the youths to mind their own security, and to avoid engaging in dangerous behaviour that may endanger their own lives during the festive season celebrations.
The president in a brief Christmas message, cautioned the youths, who he usually refers to as his grandchildren, to steer clear of dangerous activities.
“I urge you to celebrate responsibly,” Museveni called. “To the Bazukulu, beware that alcoholism and promiscuity comes with a price.”
Meanwhile, in the same message, Museveni reassured the nation that security services will be on standby to deal with any eventualities, and “to ensure an incident-free festive season.”
He however called on Ugandans to be mindful of their own security.
“Like I have urged you in the past, security is our collective responsibility; let us all be alert.”
The president is at his country home in Kiruhura district where he will be celebrating the festive season with his family.
