The recruitment exercise for the Districts of Kabale, there Kisoro and Rubanda were held at the Kabale Main Stadium in Kabale Municipality.
Major Ceaser Olweny, the UPDF spokesperson for the 4th Division Gulu told Chimpreports that the low turn for the exercise was surprising to them.
Major Olweny, who is also the spokesperson for the recruitment, revealed that they were hoping to get 19 recruits from Kisoro District, 8 from Rubanda and 29 from Kabale.
He says however that the turn up was too low to hit these targets, citing for instance that they managed to get only 14 from Kabale district.
Olweny adds that no female has so far been approved to join the army from the region.
