Dfcu Bank today officially announced a partnership with Vivo Energy Uganda that will allow dfcu customers to access agent banking services at designated Shell petrol stations across the country
Dfcu Bank agents will be located at 40 selected Shell stations across the country to offer banking services including Cash deposits and withdraws, cash transfers, payment of bills including school fees and taxes and opening of new bank accounts
Speaking today at the official launch of the partnership, the Dfcu Bank CEO, Mathias Katamba said agent banking is a promising strategy that allows all Ugandans to access banking services even the less educated and those in the hard to reach areas as well as a good substitution incase electronic banking fails
“The partnership with Vivo Energy and many more to come, is a clear testimony that dfcu is going an extra mile to extend services to our customers,” he said
Katamba added that agent banking will be complemented with an instant account opening platform that will enable customers to acquire dfcu bank accounts in less than 5 minutes
The Vivo Energy Managing Director, Gilbert Assi said the company has continuously invested in convenience for its customers by offering a range of services to their customers who came in to fuel or service their cars.
“The partnership with dfcu completes our strategy to offer our customers with easy access to different services as we take care of their cars. We hope to extend the dfcu agent banking services to all our 254 sites across the country,” he said
Currently Dfcu Bank has over 1500 agents across the country in super markets, shops, hardware stores, gas stations and other designated spots. The bank says its planning to add more agents in the coming months to reduce the distance and inconvenience that their customers suffer while trying to access banking services.
