Gospel turned singer Desire Luzinda has urged women to support each other instead of fighting to bring down one another as she rallies her support behind Irene Namatovu in AFRIMA 2018.
Following Eddy Kenzo’s shocking move where he called upon his fans to support his nemesis Bebe Cool in the All Africa Music Awards 2018, Desire has also come out urging women to pick a leaf from his gesture and support fellow women.
The newly converted born-again Christian and mother of one has asked her fans to vote for singer Irene Namatovu at the 5th edition of the awards that seek to celebrate African artists.
Namatovu is nominated in the category of Best Female East Africa alongside fellow Ugandans Sheebah Karungi and Sandra Nankoma.
They will battle it out with Becky G (Ethiopia), Sama (Tanzania), Petra (Kenya), Rash (Kenya) and Vibe (Rwanda) at the awards ceremony this weekend, Saturday 24 November in Accra-Ghana.
Desire Luzinda has taken to Instagram to urge women to learn to fix other women’s crowns for a better world.
“If all women learnt to fix or celebrate other women’s crowns this world would be a better place. Let us vote for this super woman to bring the award home.” Desire posted.
This is Namatovu’s first nomination at the prestigious awards.
