Desabre Happy With Competition For Numbers

Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre has expressed his delight in the level of competition for slots as the team prepares ahead of the Niger camp.

Desabre states that it is good for him as a coach to have players fighting for numbers because everyone works with full commitment.

“ It is good for me because we have players in different positions and all working at 100% and they are all focused for these games. “ said Desabre after the Tuesday morning training session at Stade General Seyni Countche.

The Cranes arrived in Niger capital Niamey on Monday morning ahead of a  camp that will see the team play two games against Niger and Central African Republic.

The French tactician also noted that it was important for players to acclimatize to the heat in Niamey before the first game on Wednesday.

“ We had a long trip yesterday but we reached safely in Niamey and it is very important that the players adapt to these hot conditions early enough. We had a session in the morning and will another in the afternoon specifically about set pieces.” He stated.

In a another development, physical trainer Antonio Jerome who was with the National team in the friendlies against Malawi and Sao Tome and Principe returns.

FUFA spokesperson Ahmed Hussein confirmed to this website that Jerome will be with the team in Niger.
