Just days after rejoining Egyptian Premier League side Smouha, Derick Nsibambi’s new club have announced that they have parted ways with their head coach Hossam Hassan.
Hassan had signed for Smouha in January 2019 after getting sacked by Pyramids FC.
The former Zamalek coach had a good start with the Alexandria-based side as he put them out of the relegation zone and led them to a 12th place finish.
He kept his good run at the start of the second season, helping his side sit seventh on the league table.
He additionally guided the Blues to the Egypt Cup round of 16, winning five games while drawing another five and losing just three across all competitions.
However, he lost the last two games to Wadi Degla and Al Masry and the club decided to terminate the 53-year-old’s contract.
