Information reaching Chimp Corps from a reliable source indicate that the Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) management has suspended its subsidiary Star TV’s Wolokoso program over cyber bullying accusations from singer Lydia Jazmine.
In the wake of celebrities coming forth to decry social media bullying, riding on their mantra hash tag ‘Stop Social Medial Bullying’, Lydia Jazmine called out Star TV’s Ibrah K. Mukasa alias MC Ibrah for his constant verbal attacks on the singer, which she says have caused her, and her family excruciating pain.
“Management has suspended the show on Star TV and asked the host to apologise to Ms Jasmine. Management is also looking at previous recordings to verify whether Ibrah has in the past breached UBC’s Broadcasting standards,” the source revealed.
Jazmine also implored UCC to “take action against such TV shows.”
“My sick mother, family and friends have been affected deeply by this. I have always kept my silence but I am human too and this has brought so much pain to me. I ask for a full apology for all these insults. UCC needs to put a stop to such shows,” Jazmine’s tweet reads in part.
In a video Jazmine shared, and has since been making rounds on social media, MC Ibrah waters down Lydia Jasmine’s persona, saying he was told that she is pregnant and Fik Fameika- fellow singer, is the responsible father.
Ibrah also intimated that if Jasmine is not pregnant, as she ‘alleges’, she must have opted for an abortion then.
In the same video, Ibrah further rants on that Jazmine and Fik Fameika are incompatible in so many ways, citing their alleged age difference and one of the partners being ‘dumb’.
It should be noted that in the past week, socialite and former TV presenter Sheila Gashumba, along her boyfriend Ali Marcus Lwanga, commenced on a journey to dig out evidence and expose ill deals made involving Urban TV’s Tina Fierce- presenter of the Scoop on Scoop program, intending to tarnish Sheila’s name.
Before long, the show was suspended. It remains to be seen if the action was out of Sheila’s ‘intention to sue’ notice or other reasons as per Urban TV management is concerned.
