Crime Preventer Stabbed to Death in Dokolo

Police in Dokolo District is holding a man identified as Lawrence Omong aged 46 years for stabbing to death a crime preventer.

The suspect in custody is a resident of Ilong Village, Awiri Parish, Dokolo Subcounty in Dokolo District.

According to police, the suspect has been a wanted man for a period of time for allegedly obtaining money by false presence worth 800,000 Uganda shillings.

David Ongom the police spokesperson North Kyoga told chimp corps that the suspect “attacked two Crime Preventers stabbing one Micheal Enyang aged 42 on the neck killing him instantly”.

Ongom added that after stabbing Michael to death, the suspect immediately stabbed another crime preventer called Omodo Kizito on the back sustaining severe injuries.

The police publicist told chimp corps that the Crime preventers had been sent to locate the suspect and notify the police for possible arrest of the suspect “but were surprisingly attacked”.

The suspect was apprehended and detained at Awiri Police station vide CRB 10/02/2018 before he was transferred to Dokolo CPS where currently he is being detained.

A charge of Murder and attempted Murder has been preferred on him, statements have been recorded and the case file currently being prepared pending submission to resident state attorney.


The regional police spokesperson condemned the action of the suspect of resisting lawful arrest and urged people to work with the force within the legal provisions to have their matters attended to.
