How Uganda Defied Odds:

Coming into the tie, Uganda had lost their last two opening games in the World Cricket League.

The Cranes had lost to Canada in 2017 Division three at Lugogo and Malaysia earlier this year in the division four.

Denmark won the toss and elected Uganda to start with the ball first.

MS Henriksen and captain Ham shar hit 43 and 31 runs respectively as Denmark managed just 165 all out after 44.4 overs with a run rate of 3.69.

Charles Waisswa picked four wickets, Riazat Ali Sha and Henry Ssentongo managed two each. Irfan Afridi and Deus Muhumuza also got a wicket each in an incredible inning.

Uganda suffered an early shock when Captain Roger Mukasa was eliminated with a duck after facing just two balls.

However, the team found an unlikely hero in Otwani. He scored 88 runs to propel Uganda to victory.

DM Nakrani scored 20, Henry Kayondo scored five, RB Patel made nine runs. Riazat Ali Shar and Deus Muhumuza finished the load, scoring 10 and 29 runs in that order.

Ug fall of wickets: 1-1 (RG Mukasa, 0.2 ov), 2-22 (HB Kayondo, 3.6 ov), 3-72 (RB Patel, 13.1 ov), 4-115 (DM Nakrani, 24.2 ov), 5-130 (A Otwani, 28.2 ov)

Uganda who won 2018 Div IV in Malaysia, is seeking to finish among the top-two teams at the end of the single round-robin format stage to qualify for ICC World Cricket League Division Two, to be held in 2019.
