Uganda National Women Football Team (Crested Cranes) have dropped by four places according to the latest World FIFA rankings released on Friday.
The latest rankings put the Crested Cranes in the 146th place dropping from the previous 142nd position without a change in point accumulation (868).
On the African continent, the Crested Cranes are now ranked 24th while Nigeria (1614) tops the continent while ranks 38th on the global scene.
Cameroon that sits in the 51 position globally (1455) is second on the continent behind Nigeria. South Africa (53) and Ghana (63) are in the 3rd and 4th respectively.
USA leads the global rankings with 2181 points followed by Germany (2090), France (2036), Netherlands (2032) and Sweden (2007) in descending order.
Before the country went into a lockdown, Uganda (U17) had already advanced to the last qualification round for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup tournament that will be held in India next year.
Uganda had outwitted Tanzania 6-2 on aggregate following a scintillating performance in he return leg at Lugogo to set a date with Cameroon.
