Former State Minister for Labor, Hon Hebert Kabafunzi has successfully applied to be quarantined in Kampala for the Covid19 disease.
The former Minister who is also MP for Rukiga County is currently quarantined in the border town of Mutukula.
ChimpReports was yet to confirm whether or not he recently traveled in from Tanzania.
We have however established that test samples were taken from him on Sunday April 5th and he was still awaiting results.
The MP recently asked to be allowed to be quarantined in Kampala, where he can be closer to his family.
In a letter seen by Chimpreports, the National Coordinator Quarantine Sites at the Health Ministry, Dr Richard Mugabi wrote to the Chairperson Kyotera District COVID 19 Task Force saying that he received social and health concerns from Kabafunzaki which necessitated him to be quarantined in a facility close to Kampala where he can get access to his family physician.
“I request that he (Kabafunzaki) facilitates his transfer to Evelyn Apartments in Kigowa, one of private quarantine centres in Ntinda which is well secured with police. The district team should identify a security officer to escort him and hand him over to the security team at the Hotel,” read part of the letter.
In response, Dr Musoke Nanseera, the Kyotera District Health Officer, agreed to the request on condition that Kabafunzaki facilitates his transfer to the said facility (Evelyn Hotel Kigoway) and remains cooperative during the whole process of transfer.
Kabafunzaki has been at the facility under institutional quarantine from 26th March 2020.
The MP was not available when we tried to reach him for a comment.
