Kisoro district has stepped up the fight against Coronavirus by introducing mandatory checking for all people entering the district.
Abel Bizimana, the Kisoro LC5 Chairman announced yesterday that the district has put a check point at the Kisoro – Rubanda district border in Kanaba, where all vehicles and people entering the district are having their temperatures taken and asked to wash their hands.
Also, all buses entering the district are required to have sanitation equipment for the passengers and a temperature gauge.
Captain Peter Mugisha, the Kisoro RDC says the district in addition, has set up an isolation centre at Kisoro Hospital.
Kisoro, being at the Rwandan border has over the past week been highly exposed to the deadly Corona Virus.
Capt. Mugisha revealed yesterday that a total of five teachers who have been teaching in Rwanda but returned home last week are being quarantined at Kisoro Teachers College.
The district has so far formed a committee headed by the Chief Administrative Officer to handle and supervise sub county Chiefs and Town clerks to see that all of President Museveni’s directives are implemented.
The RDC on the other hand will coordinate the armed forces; the Head of Operation Wealth Creation will handle crime preventers, while the district chairman will handle all the LCs.
