Kabale district Covid-19 task force has temporarily closed two health facilities in Kabale municipality after their health workers came into contact with confirmed Covid-19 patients.
Mwesigye Health Care Clinic in Kigongi and Medicus Clinic were closed and patients and health workers ordered to go home.
The Acting Kabale district Health Officer Alfred Besigensi told our reporter that they decided to close the clinics because their health workers came into contact with Covid-19 patients.
He said all health workers in the health clinics have been forced into self-isolation and their samples have been drawn for testing.
Besigensi said that during the temporary closure of the said health clinics, there will be fumigation and disinfection of all tangible materials in those facilities until the elapse of four days when they will be allowed to reopen.
Currently, 35 Covid patients are admitted at Kabale regional referral hospital.
