COVID-19: Uganda Records 145 New Cases, 2 Deaths on Monday

The Ministry of Health has confirmed 145 new Covid-19 cases from the 2,003 samples tested on September 14, 2020.

Of the confirmed cases, 103 were contacts, 25 alerts and 17 returnees.

2 Covid-19 deaths were also confirmed from Jinja and Kampala, bringing the Covid-19 death toll to 58.

The breakdown of the 145 cases indicates that Pader had the most infections (52), followed by Kampala (11), Lamwo (9) Amuru (7), Gulu (8), Mbale (8), Lira (6), Omoro (4), Kikuube (3), Namayingo (3), Iganga (2), Oyam (4), Arua (1), Bududa (1), Jinja (1), Kapchorwa (1), Kiryadongo (1), Kisoro (1), Ngora (1), Nwoya (2), Wakiso (1) and Zombo (1).

The number of returnees confirmed was 17, 10 from South Sudan and 7 from India. Of the total 2,003 samples tested, 202 were taken from various entry points.

It should be noted that the cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans to date are 5,123 with 2,333 recoveries and 58 deaths.
