The Head of High Court Criminal Division Justice Wilson Kweiga has set 30th March 2017 next week to hear the bail application filed by 4 Tabliques who are charged with murder of Sheikh Major Muhammad Kiggundu and his body guard Sgt Steven Mukasa.
The suspects include Acting Amir of Nakasero Mosque Sheikh Yahaya Ramathan Mwanje, approved http://channelingerik.com/wp-includes/ms-default-constants.php 2 boda-boda riders; Muhammad Buyondo and Abdul-Wahab Ssendeya and a businessman from Masanafu trading centre Musa Ssekandi.
These asked the High Court to temporarily release them from Luzira prison on grounds that bail is their Constitutional right and also pledging not to interfere with police’s on-going investigations.
The accused pleaded the presumption of innocence and also having permanent places of residence as more grounds to buttress their bail application.
Early this morning Sheikh Mwanje together with his co-accused appeared before Buganda Road court chief magistrate Jamson Karemani for the mention of their 2 murder cases.
State prosecutor Emily Ninsiima informed court that inquiries are still on going, and the Magistrate granted her more time to conclude their investigations.
