Court Threatens to Dismiss Bajjo’s Case

Buganda Road grade one Magistrate Stella Amabirisi has granted the last adjournment to state prosecution in the matter where Events organizer Andrew Mukasa aka Bajjo is accused of inciting violence and offensive communication

This matter had come up for hearing but the state Prosecutor in charge of the case asked for an adjournment saying she lacked a police file, which annoyed the defence counsel Erias Lukwago

In response, Lukwago asked the magistrate to dismiss the matter because the prosecution didn’t present sufficient reasons to back up her request

Lukwago added that this matter has been in court since June, yet the state has not expressed any readiness to proceed.

“Let’s give the prosecution the last adjournment and if they don’t present Police file in the next sitting, this matter will be dismissed “the magistrate ruled.

The case was adjourned to 2nd December 2019

Prosecution contends that during the month of June 2019 at various places of Masaka, Ibanda and Kampala, Bajjo wilfully and repeatedly with intent to disturb the peace and privacy of the person of the President, recorded an audio and posted it on social media containing inciting messages using his mobile phone

Its further alleged that in this video he was saying that he is going to overthrow the government before 2021.
