Court Summons Col. Abiriga for Peeing at Ministry of Finance

Col. Ibrahim Abiriga, the Arua municipality Member of Parliament, has been summoned by the Chief Magistrates of Buganda Road holden at City Hall over allegations that he urinated outside the ministry of Finance on Monday this week.

Abiriga’s summons seen by this website indicate that he is wanted vide Criminal Offence No. 2571 of 2017, to answer charges for  committing a nuisance by easing  in public C/R 7(h) and 27 of Local Governments (Kampala City Council ) Maintenance of Law  and Order Ordinance, 2006.

The summons dated  September 27th, 2017 partly read that “You are hereby commanded by the Uganda Government to appear in this court on the 06th day of October 2017 at 9:00am or soon thereafter as the case can be heard.”

Abiriga on Tuesday admitted having peed at the Ministry of Finance fence by saying that;

“I don’t know what’s wrong with these journalists. They are spreading bad things about me. I was urinating. What is wrong with that?”

He added that “I urinated because I was badly off. I wonder why people are spreading it all over internet and Whatsapp, yet I was answering nature’s call!”

This came after pictures of Abiriga standing behind a shrub outside the ministry of Finance fence going viral on social media.

However, he did this despite the fact that Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) set up a number of public toilets in several parts of Kampala, where citizens can easily ease themselves.
