High court judge Henrietta Wolayo has nullified the elections Senkubuge Isaac as the Chairperson for Bweyogerere Division, in Kira municipality, Wakiso district and ordered for fresh elections
This followed the successful election petition filed in court by Tamale Konde Julius, one of the contestants who challenged the results on grounds that there were lots of irregularities.
“Given the fact that the first respondent (Senkubuge) won by 315 votes, it’s probable that the petitioner could have won these elections” ruled justice Wolayo.
The judge added that the issuance of different results with alternations and errors demonstrated failure to conduct a free and fair election.
According to the applications, out of the 27 polling stations, 6 were compromised namely; Bukasa (NAT- Z) Kito A , (M-NAM) ,Kito Mandela College, (L-NAK) Bweyogerere and Hassan Turabi
Justice Wolayo thus issued an order to the Electoral Commission to organize fresh elections as well as to pay costs to Tamale Monde who is the applicant in this case
