The Court of Appeal yesterday commenced with hearing of cases that had overstayed in the system.
The 75 cases are going to be heard within a period of one week.
According to the internal memo dated 2nd November 2018 issued by the Acting Registrar Court of Appeal Agness Nkonge, hearing of these cases commenced on the 5th of November 2018 and its ending on Thursday 8th November 2018.
The cases are set to be handled by a panel of three judges that include; Justice Kenneth Kakuru, Christopher Madrama and Ezikiel Muwanguzi.
Among the prominent cases to be heard are that of Hajji Moses Kigongo vs Olive Kigongo seeking for stay of execution, Electoral commission vs Joy Kafula Kabatsi, Attorney General vs Olara Otunnu , Hon Muwanga Kivumbi vs Attorney General.
Criminal appeals include that of the former Principal Accountant in the office of the Prime Minister Geoffrey Kazinda, Hon Tony Kipoi Nsubuga challenging the trial of civilians in Army court and many others.
