The Court of Appeal this morning kicked off hearing of 40 criminal appeal cases arising from numerous capital offences.
Among the cases in the session include Murder, Defilement, Aggravated Robbery, Rape, Kidnap with intent to murder and robbery.
The session, which was flagged off by Court of Appeal’s Justice Frederick Egonda Ntende, will have two more judges Hellen Obura and Christopher Madrama.
During the opening ceremony, the Justices interacted with court users who raised a number of questions which were addressed to their satisfaction.
The Justices said they were committed to delivering justice and also to reduce on case backlog.
This session which will take 2 weeks will end on Thursday 20th June 2019.
