Buganda road court presided over by the Chief Miriam Akello has released on bail Juma Akankwasa, who is accused of stabbing two KCCA enforcement officers with a knife.
The magistrate released Akankwasa on bail after he presented sureties that were found substantial.
Akankwasa was ordered to pay a deposit of Shs 1million cash, while his sureties were asked to sign a bond of 10 million shillings each.
On top of this, these were ordered to deposit original copies of their National identity cards until the matter is fully heard and disposed of.
The matter was adjourned to 25th August 2020 for mention.
Prosecution contends that on 17th July this year, Akankwasa a vendor attempted to cause the death of Lameck Mutebi and injury to John Lubega by stabbing them with a knife
The enforcement officer was admitted to Norvik Hospital in Kampala.
