Court Decides Tomorrow to Allow Mumbere Bury His Mother

International Crimes Division Court (ICD) judge Justice Eva Luswata is expected tomorrow to hear an application in which the Omusinga of Rwenzururu Charles Wesley Mumbere seeks for court to relax some of his bail conditions, so he may be able to travel to Kasese for burial of his mother.

Mrs Christine Mukirania, passed away this week at the age of 85 at Kilembe Mines hospital.

According documents from court, this matter will be heard at 9am in the morning

In January 2017, Justice Eva Luswata granted Mumbere a non-cash bail of 100 million shillings, while his six sureties who included the former leader of opposition Hon Winnie Kiiza were bonded at 100 million shillings.

Some of the bail conditions to the king included moving in only three districts of Kampala, Wakiso and Jinja.

He was required to seek permission from court first before travelling to any other place.

The deceased will be laid to rest on Wednesday 19th June 2019 in Kasese district at Nyamiranga Village in Mukhoya sub county.
