Uganda senior ladies national team, the Crested Cranes will take part in this year’s Confederation of Southern Africa Football Association(COSAFA Women’s Championship.
Uganda together with Cameroon were confirmed last week as the two guest teams that will play at the annual tournament.
In the draws held on Wednesday, the Crested Cranes have been drawn in Group C alongside Zimbabwe, Namibia and Swaziland.
This will be the first time that Uganda will be taking part in this championship but it’s the third time for an East African nation after Tanzania and Kenya in 2011 and 2017 respectively.
In the other draws held hosts and defending champions South Africa are in group Alongside alongside Botswana, Madagascar and Malawi.
Group B has Zambia, Lesotho, Mozambique and guests Cameroon.
The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarterfinals and will be joined by the best two thirds placed teams.
The tournament is slated to take place between 12th -22nd September 2018 in the coastal town of Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Uganda played at this year’s CECAFA Women’s Championship and finished second behind Tanzania.
