Uganda and Rwandan authorities are searching for a Rwandan woman suspected of being a victim of Coronavirus.
Delphine Mushimiyimana recently traveled from Dubai to Rwanda’s capital, Kigali.
She stayed with a man who later fell sick.
On being tested for Coronavirus, the friend of Mushimiyimana was found positive.
Mushimiyimana’s friend was asked for his travel history only to say he had not traveled out of Rwanda for a long time.
Asked about the people who had come close to him, the man said he was staying with Mushimiyimana who had traveled to Nyagatare near the Ugandan border.
Authorities quickly searched for Mushimiyimana in vain.
Immigration officials later learned that Mushimiyimana had left for Uganda.
According to information received by Ugandan authorities from their Rwandan counterparts, Kigali tried to contact Mushimiyimana but that she picked the phone and later switched it off.
This has thrown Ugandan authorities into panic as they search for Mushimiyimana.
Security forces are now searching for Mushimiyimana in Rukiga County in Kabale, South western Uganda.
Health Ministry spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyoona told ChimpReports on Friday afternoon that, “We received an alert about that person (Mushimiyimana) and we dispatched a team of security people and health officials to look for her. We will keep the country updated on this matter.”
