The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has cancelled his planned visit to Buddu County, to protect his people from the threat of Coronavirus.
While revealing this development on Monday at Bulange Mengo, the Prime Minister of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga noted that wherever the Kabaka visits people turn up in large numbers and that it may become hard to enforce safety measures against this pandemic.
“We pray that you stay calm because after assessing the situation and realizing that it has normalised, the Kabaka will be resuming with his visits” Katikkiro Mayiga said
Mayiga applauded all those who have been working tirelessly towards the success of this halted visit.
Kabaka was expected to visit the areas of Kakuuto and neighbouring towns towards the end of March 2020.
In the past week, three neighboring countries, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya registered cases of COVID-19 (coronavirus) which started from China.
