Controversial Journalist Kasuku for UJA Vice Presidency

Vocal media personality Isaac Katende better known as Kasuku has expressed interest to become the Vice President of the Uganda Journalists Association (UJA). UJA is an umbrella body that brings together all journalists in Uganda.

Kasuku, a radio presenter at Namuwongo based K-Dembe FM was on Tuesday morning nominated for the post. At his nomination press conference at Homeland Hotel along Namirembe Road,  Kasuku pledged to unify all journalist in the country regardless of their beats or media house. “A few minutes ago, I got nominated for the post of Vice President Uganda Journalists Association. I have so many things I could love to do but most importantly I have the desire of reviving UJA as an association and bringing journalists closer to each other” Kasuku stated.

The sometimes controversial Kasuku who also works at Spark TV said he wants to cause change that will help not only the present crop of journalists but also those in the coming generation. “Everybody seems to be putting their house in order but somehow we as journalists have failed. The main purpose of this process is not solely to win but to cause change that will be of help to not only us but also those that will come after us. Now is the time to restore the glory of the 4th estate” added Kasuku. Voting is scheduled for this Friday 10th August 2018.

Kasuku, the Talk & Talk show host made headlines early this year after making controversial remarks when singer Radio Mowzey died.  In 2014, Kasuku was also involved in a provocative incident where he claimed that BET award winning singer Eddy Kenzo assaulted him during a press conference at Centenary Park.
