Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) on Sunday departed for Rwanda for their CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round tie against AS Kigali scheduled for Wednesday.
Uganda’s continental representatives KCCA FC, however, didn’t travel with their head coach Mike Hilary Mutebi after testing positive for Covid-19.
The Kasassiro Boys also left behind their three goalkeepers in skipper Charles Lukwago, Ali Mwirusi and Hassan Matovu who also contracted the coronavirus disease and went into a mandatory 14-days quarantine.
Also, right back Denis Iguma, striker Brian Aheebwa, left back Hassan Musana, Italian midfielder Loro Mazengo, midfielder Keziron Kizito and striker Andrew Kigozi Samson are other players that didn’t travel for the same account.
According to Bigwales, only 14 players made the trip to Rwanda with assistant coach Morley Byekwaso poised to assume the head coach role in Mutebi’s absence.
Kaddu Badru, Kabuye and Richard Malinga are the other members of the technical team that have made the trip to Rwanda for the continental action.
KCCA FC will lock horns with AS Kigali on Wednesday 23rd December at Stade Kigali before the return leg at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo in Kampala.
