KCCA FC coach Mike Mutebi has revealed that he is confident that his side still has the better chances to retain the league title despite being in tougher competition this time round.
KCCA FC have won the league in the last two seasons; beating Vipers on four points in 2015/2016 before edging Villa on eight points the following season.
It’s from the above historical background that Coach Mutebi draws his confidence that he still has the upper hand.
Mutebi who was speaking in a press briefing ahead of their home tie with Mbarara City, noted: “Our objective has always been to defend this title, I know it’s not going to be easy but we have to show that mentality, though the competition is too stiff.
“We are among the big boys, we are the defending Champions and I believe that we have more than enough to win the league.”
Currently, KCCA FC are second; level on 39 points with third placed Vipers and four points below surprise leaders SC Villa.
It should be noted that KCCA FC has played only 19 games, two lesser than Wasswa Bbosa’s SC Villa.
The title race resumes on Tuesday; KCCA FC host Mbarara, Villa travel to Kavumba to play Soana as Vipers will play host to the visiting Bright Stars at Kitende.
