CMI RAID: Murdered Case Accountant’s Car Found at Kitatta Men’s House

The crackdown on Boda Boda 2010 has intensified with military intelligence operatives busting the militia’s main operations centre, recovering several stolen cars including one of murdered Case Hospital Accountant Francis Ekulangar.

Supported by armed military police, CMI officers on Sunday raided a residence in Kabowa, Rubaga Division, where some members of Boda Boda 2010 reside.

This comes high on the heels of the arrest of Boda Boda 2010 commander, Abdallah Kitatta and his brother Huzair.

According to officials who talked to ChimpReports on condition of anonymity, Huzair, who confessed taking part in the murder, “collaborated with CMI and revealed their hideout where Ekulangar’s car was hidden.”

Ekulangar was kidnapped on January 2 along Yusuf Lule Road as he drove the bank.

The Accountant was brutally killed and his body burnt by thugs who also robbed Shs15m from his car.

“Ekulangar’s car was found with a fake number plate at their (Boda Boda 2010) house,” said an officer.

By Sunday afternoon, CMI operatives were combing other parts of Kampala and Wakiso in search of items stolen by Boda Boda 2010.

The military intelligence operation is said to have the endorsement of President Museveni and defence chiefs.

Officials said the operation is based on intelligence gathered for a period of over 13 months into acts of criminality in Uganda.

Boda Boda 2010 has previously been praised by IGP Gen Kale Kayihura for helping him to contain opposition activism in the country.

But the unfolding developments have blown the lid off the dark world of the militia’s criminal activities.
