As old Kampala Police continues to hunt for a yet to be identified gang of thieves, the group struck again on Thursday night terrorizing residents in Rubaga division.
Among the victims was a lady identified as Mayi Sempebwa, a resident of Musigulu LC 1 in Rubaga who was allegedly slapped into coma before being robbed.
The incident was confirmed by KMP Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire at Central Police Station in Kampala.
According to Owoyesigire, robbers broke in to Mayi’s house, “slapped her severely” and stole her house hold electronics and four smart phones.
“The robbers slapped her and she fainted, but our patrol rushed her to hospital and she’s stabilizing,” Owoyesigire said.
On Sunday night, the same group as suspected by police raided a convent in Bunamwaya and robbed nuns of laptops and unspecified amount of money.
The group that wields pangas is also believed to be behind the robbery of an NGO called “Doing Good” in the same city division.
