City Oilers Fall to AS Sale in Second Loss

City Oilers 81-91 As Sale

City Oilers suffered their second loss in the ongoing FIBA Africa Champions Cup in Tunisia.

Oilers lost 81-91 to Moroccan side AS Sale in a game played at the Salle Multidisciplinaire de Rades

Oilers’ Robinson Opong collected 23 points and 6 assists, Sale’s Abderrahim Najah led the way with 22 points and 9 rebounds.

Speaking after the game, Sale’s Wayne Arnold said:

“City Oilers were very competitive, the guys played very hard. On our side, I dont think that we played as we should have and personally I didnt shoot very well.”

He added that Oilers just have to execute alot better and take care of the little details


“So far we have played two games, we have had a terrible show but I think if we get our offense intact, we will ball with more confidence and be a real contender,” Jimmy Enabu said after the game.

City Oilers vs Inter Clube

Today afternoon, Oilers will return to action against Inter club, an outfit from Luanda, Angola.

Inter Club, who are funded by the Angolan Police, are second in Pool B with two victories (KPB and ASB New Generation)

“It has been a challenging experience so far but going into the third game, we are expecting much better result,” said Jimmy Enabu.

“We are still building Chemistry, learning each other but I guess there is alot of progress.”
